Current Status

The City received demonstrations on portable video surveillance equipment, but it was determined that it is not financially reasonable at this point in time. The City is exploring options to add additional video surveillance equipment.

Continue to expand the use of the Drone Program by getting more Officers certified so that the drone is available on all shifts. In 2024, a second drone was added, which greatly increases our resources that are available for search and rescue and public safety related matters.

In 2023, an additional Licensed Pilot was added to the Drone Program. Currently, there are two Licensed Drone Pilots. In 2025, we will be seeking to add one or two more pilots.
