Create a workgroup to conduct a needs assessment regarding the broad range of public health needs in the City. Determine the feasibility and criticality of creating/expanding service levels at the local/regional level.

Current Status
PHC has conducted two community engagement sessions as well as data collection. The assessment will be completed and presented to the City Council in May of 2025.

Public Health Workgroup created by the end of the 1st Qtr 2024. Needs assessment completed no later than the end of 2024. Present results to the City Council no later than the end of the 1st Qtr of 2025.

Current Status

The City does not have a Public Health Code nor does it operate a Public Health Department as is the case with the two largest cities in the State. The approach the City presently operates on is a conglomeration of services provided mostly by non-profit, state and private entities. This model is consistent with most of the municipalities in the state.
