Comply with new EPA Lead and Copper Rule established in October 2024

Begin the process to identify potential locations of Lead and Copper in the City's water distribution system. Obtain approval from the City Council to apply for the DWSRF loan forgiveness program.

Current Status

Service line material type inventory was submitted and met the deadline on October 26, 2024. An application for further identification and service line replacement for a 71% principal forgiveness loan for the work is in process. City Council approved the $2,316,000 loan on March 19, 2025. Identification scheduled for 2025 and replacement for 2026. There is a five year timeframe to expend the loan. The whole project must be completed by 2037.
